What Vinyl Siding is Best?
The profile, thickness, color and Vinyl Siding Institute certification may all affect the appeal and cost of vinyl siding. For example: the "profile" of premium vinyl siding is how much the vinyl protrudes to look like real clapboard. A deeper profile, like ¾" is considered premium.
Can I still use vinyl siding for a remodel if my house is partly brick and partly wood siding?
Yes! Essentially everything except the brick can be covered, including the soffit and fascia, giving you a maintenance-free home exterior. Vinyl siding is compatible with everything from cultured stone to stucco.
What is meant by Low-E Glass and U-Factor?
Low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings on glass reduce the infrared radiation from a warm pane of glass to a cooler pane. This lowers the U-factor of the window.
The lower the u-factor, the greater a window's resistance to heat flow and the better its insulation value.
How is a fiberglass door system better than wood or steel doors?
Fiberglass won't dent, crack, split or splinter like wood. In addition, the solid polyurethane foam core offers five times greater insulation value than wood doors.
Plus, fiberglass resists shrinking and swelling with temperature changes, allowing the finish to last three times longer than on a wood door!
Unlike steel doors, fiberglass won't dent, rust or warp, either.
